The curved tines make playing feel smooth. All the tines ring clear and sweetly to my ears. The oval shape of the kalimba feels comfortable to hold in my hands. It was wider and heavier than I expected, but this is my first flatboard kalimba and the weight and measurements are stated in the description, so it can be checked. I LOVE the cat shape! I am glad I found a flatboard kalimba with a cute design.

So cute !! It’s even better than I imagined :) there was a pink thank you sticker on the packaging and peach stickers which i found absolutely adorable as well ! Little side note: make sure to grow your nails out to play (i recently cut mine and my fingers start hurting pretty fast when i play but it’s worth it hihi ) :D

So, I had been eyeing this kalimba for a while. I LOVE cats and couldn’t resist the adorable cat design of this one!!! I am SO happy to have this one after putting it off so long! The wood board is very thick, has a semi-glossy shine and has a slightly heavy feel in the hands. I have the bear version of this kalimba too and the wood on this one is thicker and heavier than the bear one. I also love the contrasting look of the dark and light colored woods put together (I forget which wood it is... forgive me, lol.) The tines are engraved with the letters/numbers and they sound really dreamy! Tuning it was NOT difficult and I’m lucky this one did not shift out of tune during the shipping process — although I did fine tune it just cause, lol! The highest two tines on mine sound a little tight but resonates alright. But to be fair, that’s really the case for most kalimbas on the market anyway (except LingTing, duh!) As long as it isn’t a dead tine, then I’m perfectly happy! Also the tines appear ever-so-slightly grainy or matte, rather than having a perfectly uniform polished look. One of my tines in particular has a more apparent grainy texture than the rest to the degree that it looks “dirty” (kinda like finger smudges ... but permanent, lol.) To me, it is not a big deal cause it’s still a very beautiful, high-quality kalimba aside from that. I’m just pointing it out because it *may* be a bother for someone else. With that said, everything else about the kalimba is great! I am very excited to play more music on this!! It’s such a beautiful addition to my kalimba collection!!!

This is my first kalimba and I loveee it, it sounds great, its absolutely beautiful and it came with a case, stickers and a tuning hammer. Its honestly alot better than what I thought it would be and I can't wait to learn to play.

I bought this for my 7 year old son early to wrap up as a Christmas gift this year after he started showing interest in playing my kalimba. I have never bought a kalimba from this brand before but WOW, I was seriously impressed with the quality & design of it when I opened the box! Solid, sturdy, has a very beautiful glossy layer and of course it’s SUPER adorable!!!!! I wasn’t sure what to expect at first from the tines but I played them all and — from the lowest to the highest tines — they ALL sound amazing!! No “clincking” noise with the highest notes, which surprised me! Notes come engraved, which is especially useful for kids, along with blue & candy-striped stickers to put on them! It also came with a gray carrying case that has a strap on it! I am SO excited for him to open up this gift for Christmas! I KNOW he will love it!!!!
